During a recent appearance, board member Jennifer Tucker, alongside dancers Keala Fung and Elena Kota, shared insights into the organization’s roots and upcoming events. Jennifer highlighted the dual location of their operations, emphasizing their international performances and cultural exchanges, including an upcoming engagement in Brazil later this year.

In addition to their international endeavors, Dancers Unlimited is also participating in Indigenous Peoples’ Day celebrations in New York next week. They kicked off their fall and winter season with a community event in Kakaako, which aims to extend through 2025.

Today, the organization is hosting a “Community Movement Day” at Yoga Under the Palms in Kakaako, focusing on reconnecting participants with restful practices. The workshops are designed for all ages and abilities, encouraging community members to engage without any prior experience needed.

“We would love to welcome everybody,” Jennifer stated, affirming the inclusive nature of their programming.

The dancers, Keala and Elena, showcased a piece titled “Kanaloa,” which symbolizes the meeting of freshwater and saltwater on Oahu. This performance serves as a moving prayer for the restoration of the island’s freshwater pathways, highlighting the connection to the land and its resources.
